Ramos Viñolas and Bautista Agut don’t make the Murcia phenom regret it

Precautiously kept at rest for the confrontation with Serbia, Carlos Alcaraz watched as a spectator his teammates, engaged at the Fonteta in Valencia in the opener of the Davis Cup 2022 round. Present on the bench along with the reserves and in the company of inseparable coach Juan Carlos Ferrero, the world number one was greeted by an authentic ovation upon his arrival at the Valencia facility. The fans appreciated the presence of the Spanish talent, who accompanied the exploits of his compatriots with wild cheers.

Spurred on by an as usual very warm crowd, the two Spanish singles players Albert Ramos Viñolas and Roberto Bautista Agut did not make the boy from Murcia regret it, winning their hard-fought matches against Djere and Kecmanovic respectively, thus bringing the Iberians to 2-0. It was then up to Granollers and Martinez to complete the task, folding the Serbian pair Cacic/ Lajovic in doubles with a score of 6-7 6-2 6-2.
