Lazio, Sarri explodes: ‘I have to figure out if I should take a step back’
Biancocelesti coach Sarri does not hide his anger after the loss to Midtjylland
Maurizio Sarri is furious after Lazio’s humiliating 5-1 defeat in Denmark against Midtjylland. A knockout that left the coach of the biancocelesti stunned, who exploded to Sky after the game: “The responsibility is mine, then with the players I deal with them. From them I will want an explanation because we arrived here with an immense level of presumption. We were playing from a standstill, at a low tempo, as if we were managing a 4-0 win.”
Have last season’s blackouts returned: “Have the ghosts of last season reappeared? I don’t see much diversity there. These sudden emotional breakdowns are similar to last years. Hard to understand the reasons: if it’s me I have to take a step back, if it’s a player’s he has to leave.”
It’s not a turnover problem: “I don’t know how much the problem is the changes or the turnover, the 16 on the field I saw them all on the same mental level.”
