First joy for Lecce: Salernitana punished in the finale
Salernitana-Lecce 1-2
The first victory since returning to Serie A comes at the seventh attempt for Lecce: in fact, the team coached by Marco Baroni won 2-1 at home against Salernitana, making the most of the goal scored in the final by Gabriel Strefezza.
The Salentini started better and opened the scoring in the closing minutes of the first half, thanks to Ceesay: an action started from a ball lost by Mazzocchi and concretized, after a precise throw by Hjulmand, by the Gambian striker, good at jumping Sepe and depositing in the goal. The Granata, however, reacted and, with a bit of luck, equalized in the 55th minute: Candreva’s corner and Joan Gonzalez’s resounding deflection, which mocked his own goalkeeper, Falcone, despite himself.
Signing the winning goal, however, was Strefezza, in the 83rd minute: his right-footed shot under the crossbar, which finished behind an immobile Sepe, was the goal that earned Lecce the three points, bringing them to 6, one less than the Campania club.
