Latium, after embarrassment triggers reimbursement

Twenty-four hours after Lazio’s heavy defeat at home to Midtjylland, a 5-1 loss that admitted no replays, the biancoceleste club decided to repay the affection of the fans present at the MCH Arena in Herning by reimbursing each of those present for a ticket to the match valid for the second day of the Europa League group stage.

“S.S. Lazio will reimburse the cost of the ticket for the Midtjylland-Lazio match to the 225 supporters present in Denmark yesterday,” reads the club’s brief note, released through its official channels on Friday evening, September 16.

Lazio is playing in Group F of Europe’s second-tier competition: they currently have three points in the standings as do all three other opponents in the group, Feyenoord, Midtjylland and Sturm Graz.
