Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo makes 124 in Moldova
First smile in the second European cup
Cristiano Ronaldo dreamed of playing in the Champions League and continuing his private challenge with Messi (who at PSG continues to increase his goal turnover in Europe’s top competition). Instead, he had to settle for the Europa League. At almost 38 years old, he scored his first goal in Europe’s second-largest tournament.
In the 2-0 loss to Sheriff Tiraspol, the Portuguese signed a goal on a penalty kick. Specifically, it was team number 124 to which CR7 managed to score. Cristiano Ronaldo thus found the path to the goal that had been missing for more than four months (the last goal had come, also on a penalty kick, last May 2 against Brentford).
