Simeone, winning zuccata: Napoli expels San Siro

A.C. Milan – Napoli 1-2 in the luxury post-match of the seventh day

Called to do battle at the end of a day that saw the heavy knockouts of their most credited rivals in the Scudetto fight (Inter, Juventus and Roma lost their confrontations), Milan and Napoli did not betray expectations, resulting in an intense and at times spectacular contest.

The blue team came out on top thanks to a winning strike by newcomer Simeone, well paced by Mario Rui, in the 78th minute. Earlier, in the 55th minute, Napoli had taken the lead thanks to a penalty scored by Politano and awarded by the referee after a VAR consultation (Dest’s intervention on an unleashed Kvaratskhelia was punished).

However, Milan had found the way to the equalizer on the de Ketelaere-Theo Hernandez-Giroud axis, with the Frenchman good at depositing the former Real Madrid man’s splendid assist into the net. Just 10 minutes later, however, the cold shower for the San Siro crowd, which had to bow to the former Verona man’s prowess. In the final assaults of the Rossoneri, there is also room for a resounding cross by Kalulu, who from close range shoots clamorously over the woodwork. Finishing 1-2, Napoli grabs Atalanta at the top of the standings at 17.
