It has not gone unnoticed, especially in Juventus circles, the new barb that Matthijs de Ligt reserved for the Juventus club, during a speech on Dutch TV ‘Nos’.
“Going to Bayern, for me, was a quantum leap,” said the Leiderdorp-born 23-year-old. It is a club that has the ambition to win the Champions League. At Juve there was a little less of that.”
For De Ligt, this is not the first jab at Juventus, although some statements dating back to his early days at Bayern were toned down by the defender himself, who said he did not want to disrespect his former team.
