F1: social back-and-forth between Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton
A curious social back-and-forth, taking advantage of the momentary break from racing.
Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton are pecking at each other on Instagram, taking advantage of the break Formula 1 is giving itself between the Italian Grand Prix and the Singapore Grand Prix, scheduled for Oct. 2. The Ferrari driver is in fact back at home in Monaco, and his special workout has piqued the curiosity of his Mercedes colleague.
In fact, Leclerc posted on Instagram some pictures of himself undergoing intense training in freezing temperatures. And in presenting it to his followers, the Cavallino bearer chose irony: “It’s cold,” he wrote in fact. Hence Hamilton’s prompt response.
“How cold?” the seven-time Mercedes champion in fact wrote in a comment. “As cold as the hard tires at the winter tests in Barcelona,” Leclerc joked. A clear reference to the low temperatures in February and March, when Formula 1 cars take to the track in Montmeló. But also to an age-old problem that Ferrari and others have faced again this year: tire temperature. And as much in Ferrari as on Hamilton’s part, with tension eased and Singapore still a long way off, they have found ways to joke about it.
