Agreement imminent on free-to-air basketball

Serie A basketball will have its own space on free-to-air TV: this was guaranteed by Umberto Gandini, president of Legabasket, during an institutional meeting in Tortona. At the moment there is still no name of the ‘player’ selected by LBA: the official announcement is expected on Monday, September 26.

“The market has told us that certain broadcasters are not interested in our product,” Gandini explained, “because it brings revenues and numbers that, for their needs, are not sufficient. However, we have found an agreement, which we will announce on Monday, with a free-to-air broadcaster that will be dedicated to the promotion of basketball.”

The network, according to Gandini’s preannouncement, “will also have a passage on a network among the first nine keys of the remote control. It will take a path of education for new fans, but I am convinced that the numbers will be on our side at the end of the season.”
