Robin Gosens unveils the next stage in his career
Reached by Sport1 Robin Gosens spilled the beans on the blown deal with Bayer Leverkusen. The Inter side seemed to be one step away from landing in the Bundesliga: “In the last days of last summer market I spoke with the managers of Bayer Leverkusen, I told Simon Rolfes that I want to stay at Inter, where I am very happy.”
“It is one of the best clubs in the world,” continued the former Atalanta man, “I want to establish myself in the Nerazzurri shirt, I have not finished my work in Milan yet. I would need to play a few games in a row to regain continuity, but it’s up to me to always be ready. I am highly motivated.”
Gosens, however, does not rule out that he will return to Germany to play at some point: “I dream of playing in the Bundesliga, I am a Schalke fan and it would be perfect for me to go there. My idols and reference points? Schweinsteiger, Pander, Bordon and Alaba.”
Closing remark on the national team: “Coach Flick saw me play in the Champions League and called me to try me out. I am really happy to be back in the national team after a year of suffering through injury, it was a reward for my hard work. I know I have to do a lot more to regain the form I had in my Atalanta days and earn a place for the World Cup in Qatar.”
