Aleix Espargaró hopes: ‘Quartararo and Bagnaia start behind’
Aleix Espargaró looks over his shoulder
Aleix Espargaró, who will start sixth at Motegi, wants to continue his hopes of winning the World Championship.
“I’m positive – notes the Aprilia centaur – Today was not easy: the conditions, the waiting, the importance of qualifying, all factors that have to be managed. We came out with our heads held high, with a good position and, honestly, also a good feeling in the wet, which is certainly not my favorite terrain. This, in addition to the position compared to Fabio and Francesco, allows me to be optimistic.”
“But we have only done 50 percent of the work, we are left with the other 50, which is to make a good start,” adds the former Suzuki. “Overtaking here is not easy and, should the track be dry, we will also have little information to choose the tire. It will make a difference the analysis work in the box but I feel ready, without a doubt.”
