Marc Marquez on pole

Marc Marquez, at the end of a qualifying held on a wet track, set the fastest time (1:55.214) with his Honda at Motegi and thus took pole position. The Spaniard will thus start from the front row in the MotoGp Japanese Grand Prix along with Zarco’s Ducati Pramac and Binder’s KTM.

From the second row will start Maverick Viñales, Jorge Martin and Aleix Espargaró. Seventh Jack Miller, eighth Oliveira, ninth Quartararo and tenth Luca Marini. Pecco Bagnaia only 12th while Enea Bastianini, recent winner at Aragon, crashed during Q1 and will start 15th.

The race, Jupiter Pluvio permitting, will start Sunday at 8 a.m. Italian time.
