F1, Lando Norris looks forward to changing partners
McLaren driver looks forward to changing partners
McLaren driver Lando Norris, interviewed by RacingNews365, had his say on the change that will take place next season at the wheel of the British team’s other single-seater, with the steering wheel passing into the hands of F1 rookie Oscar Piastri.
“I am happy to work with someone new. I had two different drivers in my early years in Formula 1 (Carlos Sainz and Daniel Ricciardo, ed.) and they were both good drivers, so I’m looking forward to working with a new driver. I hope I can have some fun too,” explained the class of 1999 driver.
“Daniel is a guy you can laugh a lot with if you have fun, but as soon as you get in the car it’s serious. If you’re not driving you can be a little less serious and have some fun. I used to go golfing with Carlos and things like that. We have a lot of mutual respect and we are good friends when we are not on the track. However, everyone knows that when we are on the track, we want to get the most out of it,” Norris continued.
Finally a few words about the ‘leadership’ role he might have with Piastri: “This is something that helps, so yes, I’m definitely ready. I’ve been with the team for five years and this is my fourth year with them. I know them inside out and they know me very well, too well.”
