Claudio Ranieri remembers Jose Mourinho’s nice gesture
The former coach of Roma and Inter among others, recalls Mourinho’s nice gesture
Claudio Ranieri, former coach of Roma, Inter and Leicester among others, spoke to ‘Corriere dello Sport’ about his relationship with Jose Mourinho and his time at Inter.
On the current coach of the Capitoline side he commented, “He is a unique galvanizer. Today he is more reflective, aware and perfectly adheres to the Friedkin project. José plays to win; his career is marked by extraordinary successes. However, he knows that at this stage of Roma there are the obstacles, the limits imposed by Financial Fair Play.”
“Now he is a great friend and he was very nice when Leicester exonerated me. I remember that he showed up at the press conference with a suit that bore my initials and that day he said that I had written the most beautiful history ever,” the Roman coach continued, recalling Mourinho’s nice gesture after his exoneration from Leicester.
Finally, on his time at Inter, he said, “In Milan I paid for Thiago Motta’s farewell when he decided to go to Psg. We had agreed that he would leave at the end of the season, but he changed his mind and put pressure on the president, who accommodated him. Without Thiago the balance on the field jumped, like a clock in which a single element jams and the whole mechanism suffers.”
