Emerson Fittipaldi wants to expand Formula 1 again
Emerson Fittipaldi’s words.
Emerson Fittipaldi is back to talk about the future of Formula 1.
“In my opinion, we need more teams to have more places available,” he explained in an interview with VegasInsider, “There could be two or three more teams, and then six more cars, and there would be a lot more opportunities for young drivers to enter F1. In the mid-1970s, some grands prix had almost 30 cars. We need more cars. It will be better for sponsors, for racing, for fans, for TV, and for young talent who want to enter F1. It will definitely give them more opportunities. Besides, I talked to Michael Andretti, and he is very motivated to have a full U.S. team, and it would be great for F1 and for U.S. fans. It would create a lot more interest and following for F1.”
