Olimpia Milano, Ettore Messina has to deal with a heavy injury
Heavy injury for Olimpia ahead of game vs. Brescia
Heavy absence for Olimpia Milano and Ettore Messina: in the game, valid for the Italian Supercup semifinal, lost to Virtus Bologna, new acquisition Naz Mitrou-Long was forced to leave the parquet.
“Pallacanestro Olimpia Milano announces that Naz Mitrou-Long in the course of the Supercoppa semifinal suffered a muscle injury to the quadriceps of the right thigh that will be re-evaluated in two weeks,” reads the note circulated through its channels by the meneghina club.
The U.S. point guard will therefore be forced to miss the first game in the league, right against his former Germani Brescia teammates, but Messina will have to do without the 1993 class in at least two more days of the LBA and in the first two of the Euroleague.
Last season, Ettore Messina’s team returned to win the scudetto, snatching it from Virtus Segafredo Bologna’s jerseys. The Biancorossi, who had finished second right behind Sergio Scariolo’s team in the regular season, immediately brought the court factor to their side in the final series and never let the Felsinians catch them again. In the Euroleague, Sergio Rodriguez (who said goodbye to the Red Shoes in the summer to return to Spain) and his teammates were eliminated by Ergin Ataman’s Anadolu Efes, who would win the tournament for the second year in a row.
