Valentino Rossi: Carmelo Ezpeleta forced to make an admission
Carmelo Ezpeleta explained the very complicated moment in MotoGp: “Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez retired, missing heroes”
Dorna Ceo Carmelo Ezpeleta in an interview with El Mundo tried to explain the current difficulties of MotoGp, grappling with a lower number of fans at the circuits and viewers in front of the television set: “Several things have come together. First the pandemic, in 2022 we are experiencing the first World Championship without restrictions, but many promoters have had difficulties, and in several places there has been uncertainty about how many tickets they can sell.”
“Secondly, the lack of Heroes,” Ezpeleta bitterly admitted, “Valentino Rossi retired and it was felt in Italy. Marc Marquez missed so many races because of his injury and in Spain it was felt. There are fewer fans, but we know the causes. We can’t talk about a crisis, it’s a readjustment, MotoGp is enjoying good health. Next year we will have short races on Saturdays to attract younger audiences. We will see if it will be enough.”
