Likely lineups

At 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 4, two matches will be played for the 16th day of Serie A, the first after the World Cup break. Roma will face Bologna at the Stadio Olimpico while Lecce will host Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio.

In the match at the Via del Mare, the hosts are chasing their fourth consecutive useful result and third win in a row after those over Atalanta and Hellas Verona. Marco Baroni is expected to field the classic 4-3-3, with Gendrey preferred to Pongracic in defense and Colombo to Ceesay in attack.

Few doubts for Maurizio Sarri, who will have to do without the unavailable Luis Alberto. The Tuscan coach will most likely prefer Cataldi to Marcos Antonio to flank Vecino and Milinkovic-Savic in the midfield line. Usual ballot between Zaccagni and Pedro for a place in the offensive trio, with the Italian favored.

Likely lineups.

LECCE (4-3-3): Falcone; Gendrey, Baschirotto, Umtiti, Gallo; Gonzalez, Hjulmand, Blin; Strefezza, Colombo, Banda. All. Marco Baroni.

LAZIO (4-3-3): Provedel; Lazzari, Casale, Romagnoli, Marusic;Milinkovic-Savic, Cataldi, Vecino; Felipe Anderson, Immobile, Zaccagni. All. Maurizio Sarri.
