Federico Pellegrino gives himself podium number 40
Important milestone for the 32-year-old Blue
Federico Pellegrino continues to show he’s in great shape, winning in the 20-kilometer skating pursuit in Oberstdorf valid for the Tour de Ski his sixth podium finish of the season, 40th in individual races in his career.
Pellegrino finished third, behind the usual Klaebo (poker of successes for him) and the other Norwegian Sindre Skar. A result that was the result of a mighty comeback that brought him back once again among the top three, with only 2″1 gap from Klaebo and 3 tenths from Skar. As for the other Azzurri, Francesco De Fabiani finished 18th on the day with a 10″8 gap from the winner, Dietmar Noeckler instead finished 25th, Davide Graz 27th.
Pellegrino, with this podium finish, jumps to second place in the Tour de Ski standings with a 12-second lead over Klaebo, who leads with a time of 1h31’02”. Third is the other Norwegian Goldberg, 14 seconds behind the leader. Francesco de Fabiani, 13th at 1’24” from Klaebo, also did well. Noeckler is 21st at 1’57”.
Now the three races in Val di Fiemme are missing to conclude the Tour, the sprint in classic, the 15 km mass start in classic and the 10 km mass start in free technique, with the climb to Cermis.
