Jannik Sinner, annoyed during the match: his words
The Italian tennis player spoke after his victory with Kokkinakis
Jannik Sinner qualified for the quarterfinals of the Adelaide tournament after a two-set victory over Thanasi Kokkinakis in a set that was anything but easy. The Blue, struggling in the first set, explained that he struggled to find his best game because of the low afternoon sun: “The sun bothered me at first and created problems, then I raised my level. It’s hard to play against Kokkinakis, I remember it was also difficult in Cincinnati. I thank the crowd for supporting me as well.”
At the tie-break, the Blue showed coolness and determination: “Inside I feel a lot of emotions, but I try to look calm at all times. I was also lucky in the first set with a tape on a break ball.”
There was no shortage of compliments to Darren Cahill, his Australian supercoach: “I’m teaching him how to eat spaghetti…. Seriously, I have nothing to teach him. He, on the other hand, is teaching me so much about how to be on the court,” are the words reported by Oasport.
