Jannik Sinner updates on his injury: a forfeit announced
Jannik Sinner lost to Korda in Adelaide.
Alarm for Jannik Sinner ahead of the Australian Open: the Italian tennis player suffered a hip problem during his match loss to Sebastian Korda in Adelaide. As Sky reports, the South Tyrolean athlete immediately underwent an MRI, which reportedly ruled out complications.
The player will miss the Kooyong Classic exhibition tournament, and will try to recover ahead of the first Slam of the season. “Unfortunately, I slipped towards the end of the first set and felt my right hip being pulled. I saw the doctor, we did all the tests and scans and it’s nothing serious, which is good news. For now I need to relax and rest. I hope to be back on the court in a few days,” are the words reported by Sky. The Melbourne tournament starts on January 16.
