Injury and withdrawal from United Cup: Lorenzo Musetti’s confirmations

An official confirmation about the physical problems experienced on the field.

Lorenzo Musetti had to withdraw from the United Cup final, which he was playing for Italy against the United States. His opponent was Frances Tiafoe, who won by forfeit after winning the first set 6-2. Meanwhile, the Carrarese confirmed the existence of the physical problem that had been discussed while the match was still in progress.

“In this final I did not play at all, for me it was a very hard day. I felt like something was wrong with my shoulder, but I had to be careful not to make it worse. Next week, in fact, there is Melbourne,” Musetti explained at the press conference, referring to the upcoming Australian Open.

Musetti, however, confirmed that he enjoyed participating in the United Cup: “This tournament was really good, and it was a new experience for me. I had a lot of fun, even off the court. I really hope I can come back here again next year.”
