Ferrari welcomes Frederic Vasseur
Vasseur’s adventure as team principal of Ferrari has begun
On Monday, January 9, Frederic Vasseur’s adventure in the new role of team principal at Ferrari, held until the end of the season by Mattia Binotto, officially began. The Maranello-based Scuderia had announced the landing of the Frenchman’s arrival on December 13, 2022, with a statement that read, “Fred Vasseur will join Scuderia Ferrari on January 9 as Team Principal and General Manager.”
The former Alfa Romeo executive has thus begun work ahead of the upcoming season, where the Rossa will have to try to move beyond its 2022 second place in the constructors’ standings and also Charles Leclerc’s second place in the drivers’ standings, behind two-time world champion Max Verstappen.
Ferrari welcomed the new team principal with a tweet released through its official channels, “First day on the job in Maranello. Welcome Fred.”
Ferrari was founded in 1947 by Enzo Ferrari, in Maranello, in the province of Modena. It is involved in the Formula One World Championship, where it holds the record for the number of world Constructors’ titles won (16), and in the FIA Sport Prototypes and Endurance World Championships. The official symbol is that of the prancing horse on a yellow background, the color representing the city of Modena.
