Virtus Bologna, Scariolo regains two starters but fears two more stops
Scariolo finds two starters again for Euroleague
Good news for Virtus Bologna and for Sergio Scariolo, who will be able to count on the returns of Semi Ojeleye in the middle of the pitturato and Daniel Hackett at the point guard position in the game against Zalgiris Kaunas, valid for the 18th day of the Euroleague. In addition, the Black Vu coach informed how Awudu Abass is also on his way back.
However, the Bologna team is still waiting for news from Isaia Cordinier, out with a left knee problem but who could be back for the Tuesday, Jan. 10, challenge. On the other hand, Nico Mannion’s absence is certain, as a result of shoulder pain suffered after a hit in the big win on Barcelona’s parquet.
Last season, Virtus Bologna saw confirmation of the 2021 Scudetto win slip away only in the playoff final, lost 4-2 to Olimpia Milano. The highlight of the Felsinians’ year, however, came on May 11, with the conquest of the Eurocup, won in the final against the Turkish Bursaspor. This success gave Scariolo’s men a pass for the 2022-23 Euroleague season, a competition the Bolognese had not participated in for 14 years.
