Reggio Emilia’s point guard picks out his most spectacular assists
On the last day of the Lba, during the game then lost to Dinamo Sassari, Reggio Emilia point guard Andrea Cinciarini surpassed Gianmarco Pozzecco to become the best assistman in the history of Italy’s top basketball league.
During an interview with ‘Il Resto del Carlino,’ the former player of Olimpia Milano and Cantù among others, recalled the teammates with whom he had the greatest understanding: “In first place I put Greg Brunner, in that mythical Trenkwalder, in second place Mika Hopkins and then, in third place tied, I say Goudelock and Tarczewski in the days of Milan.”
Then Cinciarini talked about the most spectacular assists among the 1784 he has dished out over the course of his career: “There are really many but if we are talking about pure spectacle I would say those for James White’s flights or Achille Polonara’s alley-oops. For me, however, the spectacle also lies in the execution of some two-way games and then there I have to call in Goudelock and I would also add Rimas.”
