Marc Marquez grateful to Jorge Lorenzo: “He was a reference point, like Valentino Rossi”
Marquez thanks Lorenzo
Marc Marquez thanked Jorge Lorenzo regarding his recent statements that the Honda rider is still the strongest rider around right now.
The eight-time world champion, who was present in the stands of the Wanda Metropolitano to support Barcelona in the big match with Atletico Madrid on Sunday night, was intercepted by Dazn microphones and thanked the former Spanish centaur: “It is a privilege that Jorge said these words about me, with Jorge we have always had a lot of respect, I have learned a lot from him. He has been a reference point for me, as Dani Pedrosa has been, as Valentino Rossi has been. I was able to compete with them, I was able to beat them, but above all I was able to learn, which is the most important thing.”
He then reiterated his total trust in Honda: “I still trust Honda 100 percent. It is the brand that gave me all the titles, six in MotoGP, which is no small thing. It is true that we entered a complicated dynamic: I got injured and Honda went a little off course but I trust them completely. I trust that they will build a good bike and my duty is to prepare myself as much as possible and then fight for a world championship. This is my goal, Honda’s goal and the goal of the whole team who know that we all have to work together if we want to achieve it.”
