Federica Brignone thunders, “I do what I want.”
Federica Brignone: “I am really satisfied not only with the race but with how I skied, with my attitude.”
Federica Brignone at Rai’s microphones spoke after her 21st career World Cup victory, “It was my second goal of the season after the 50th World Cup podium and I’m really satisfied not only with the race but with how I skied, my attitude and what I’m doing on the skis. I’m happy with how confident I was from the middle of the slope on, and that’s what I’m more satisfied with than the result, more than the win.”
“I started off very determined, I skied not great before the Ice Fall where I took a bump and thought I threw the race away. From there on I was aggressive, pulling all the turns in the final part even though it was full of corners and pitfalls, however I didn’t try to hold but to push by going early and making speed. I took advantage of my jumper qualities, combined with my sprinter qualities. Now I have other goals, but my list has the Italian races and the World Championships in my sights.”
“If I ski like this I can really enjoy myself,” continued the Azzurra happily. “I always enjoy skiing, I love this sport. It’s my biggest passion, to spend days on skis, to be able to go skiing and pull turns is beautiful. Now I am confident, I do what I want on skis and I enjoy it even more. I feel like daring and taking risks, that makes a difference on my skiing.”
