Virtus Bologna: super comeback, but Sergio Scariolo doesn’t see only positive
A very complicated victory, with the post-game analysis divided between congratulations and the team’s problems.
Virtus Bologna beat Venice with a thrilling 79-78 win and a late comeback, but for coach Sergio Scariolo the news is not all good. “For the team structure we have, our destiny is to struggle at the Italian level,” he remarked after the game. “But our fans can be happy with the effort we put in, I think.
“Some of our people were running low on gas, others were recovering from various injuries. Every time we have to deal with various waivers, so I’m really happy with this win. We beat Venice, which has talent and experience. Plus we did it by coming back from -9, which is really important. As in general this success, seeing the dynamics of our season,” Scariolo added.
