Musetti eliminated from Australian Open

Bitter debut at the Australian Open for Lorenzo Musetti, who was outlasted in five sets by South African Lloyd Harris by the scores of 4-6, 1-6, 7-6 (7-0), 6-2, 6-7 (4-10).

An uphill start for the Carrara tennis player, who immediately goes down two sets, compromising the course of the entire match. The class of 2002, however, comes out in the course of the match and manages to recover by tying the result at two. The last partial was also very hard-fought, with the opponent, however, managing to impose himself at the super tie-break.

Unexpected defeat for Musetti, number 17 in the Atp ranking, against the 1997 South African class, currently 170th in the rankings. The effectiveness of Harris’s serve was decisive, as he put up 17 aces against only 7 for the Italian holder. There was only one previous match between the two at Challanger level, which had ended in Musetti’s victory.
