Rafa Benitez at Salernitana: only suggestion? What’s behind it
A great suggestion for the bench, however, which represents a very complicated mission.
Rafa Benitez is one of the hypotheses that Salernitana is concretely considering for the succession of Davide Nicola, the coach who was exonerated after the painful 8-2 loss in Bergamo against Atalanta. The Granata club is trying, but snatching the yes of the experienced Spanish coach does not appear easy.
‘Il Corriere dello Sport’ spoke on Monday of a real contact that Salernitana has tried to establish with Benitez, who was already in Campania in the Napoli days and has also coached Inter in Serie A. The same Roman newspaper explained, however, that in the lead would be West Ham at the moment.
The Benitez situation was also dealt with by ‘Sky Sport,’ confirming that the former coach also of Valencia, Liverpool and Real Madrid would be taking time trying to understand if there are possibilities for him in the Premier League. The names circulating most insistently for Salernitana, however, are those of Eusebio Di Francesco and especially Roberto D’Aversa. The attempt for the experienced Madrid coach, however, is there.
