On the morning of Monday, January 16, Salernitana officially announced that it had relieved coach Davide Nicola. The coach had been on the Campania club’s bench since February 2022, when he took over from Stefano Colantuono, managing to achieve an unhoped-for salvation.

“The U.S. Salernitana 1919 announces that it has relieved Mr. Davide Nicola from the position of coach of the First Team,” reads the note released by the club of President Iervolino through its official channels.

“The club thanks the coach for the passion and dedication to work shown, for his commitment in achieving the historic goal of salvation in Serie A and wishes him the best professional fortunes for the continuation of his career,” the Salernitana statement continues.
