Women’s World Cup makes a stop in Cortina
The Women’s Alpine Skiing World Cup makes a stop in Cortina d’Ampezzo for the three-day event reserved for speed on the Olympia slope of the Tofane. Three events are scheduled between Friday, Jan. 20, and Sunday, Jan. 22: Friday at 10:15 a.m. and Saturday at 10:00 a.m. will feature the super-giant and downhill races, followed on Sunday, Jan. 22, by another super-giant, scheduled at 11:30 a.m.
For this three-day event, technical director Gianluca Rulfi has summoned Elena Curtoni, Karoline Pichler, Roberta Melesi, Nicol Delago, Nadia Delago, Marta Bassino, Laura Pirovano, Federica Brignone, Sofia Goggia, Monica Zanoner, Elena Dolmen and Teresa Runggaldier. The maximum number of athletes that can be fielded for the Italian national team is nine female skiers in both downhill and super-giant.
