Australian Open: Jannik Sinner to the third round without struggling
Blue won in three sets (6-3 6-2 6-2).
A great show of strength by Sinner, who, in the second round of the Australian Open, prevailed over Etcheverry decisively. The South Tyrolean won the match in three sets (6-3 6-2 6-2), never giving the Argentine the slightest chance to get into the match. The match was settled by Sinner in one hour and 44 minutes of play.
Decidedly pleased with the Italian in the post match: “I raised my level and I am very happy to have played with the roof. I served and responded very well, I moved well and I think my background in skiing helped me in that sense.”
For the Italian, now a rest day before the next engagement: “Massage, rest, physio and then we’ll see. In a Slam event, the rest day is very important,” Sinner’s own summation.
