Italian Super Cup, distraught Simon Kjaer: “We apologize.”
Simon Kjaer disappointed with himself and Milan’s overall performance
Simon Kjaer, at the microphones of ‘Milan TV’, commented on the Rossoneri’s rout in Riyadh, with Inter cousins lifting the Italian Super Cup ahead of their all-time rivals after a resounding 3-0 win.
“We started badly, then it became difficult,” said the Danish defender. “They are good at sticking to the game plan but tonight we also did not play in such a way that we deserved to win. We have to look at ourselves and apologize to the fans.”
Milan’s moment, which since the 2-1 win at home to Salernitana last January 4 has not won on three different fronts, is complicated to say the least. Kjaer confirms, “We have to analyze this game and restart, this game hurts. We have to grow and take responsibility, tonight we didn’t put our identity into it, especially mentally. We have to improve a lot.”
