Andy Murray rages at umpire, then wins at 4 a.m.
Scottish tennis player after the battle against Berrettini also wins the one with Kokkinakis
Andy Murray wins another marathon at the Australian Open: after the nearly five-hour battle against Matteo Berrettini, the Scottish tennis player defeated Thanasi Kokkinakis in the second round on Thursday in another endless match that lasted nearly six hours.
The former world number one won in a five-set comeback over the Australian 4-6, 6-7, 7-6, 6-3, 7-5.
Murray over the course of the very long match also complained about not being able to go to the bathroom, “It’s disrespectful that you leave us out here at 3 a.m. and we can’t even go to the p…e. It’s disrespectful to us and everybody and you know that. I know you can’t do anything,” was how the Scot, who will face Spain’s Bautista in the third round, addressed the umpire.
