Federica Brignone, regret and awareness
Federica Brignone remains confident about the continuation of the weekend
Far from satisfied with Friday’s downhill result, but still hopeful for when it can happen on Saturday and Sunday, also in Cortina: that’s the mood of Federica Brignone, on the sidelines of a day that saw her finish 18th in the downhill won by Sofia Goggia.
“It’s too bad because when I went down the visibility was poor and I lost those hundredths that would have given me the top ten, which I would have considered as a very good race,” Brignone told official Fisi channels on the sidelines of the race. “With these conditions I was not podium, talking about downhill; therefore, top ten would have been a very good result. I also made a mistake at Delta, changing too much in the air, falling and getting back up: I made a mistake and I pay for my mistakes.”
“Too bad, because in three days I always went down with very bad visibility, however seeing the conditions from Shiffrin on, with the sun, it makes a difference. With visibility you go on the attack. My goal is the superg and the giants at Kronplatz. This year it’s fun even though it’s very easy with this terrain, even more than usual which makes it just fun,” concluded the Valle d’Aosta woman.
