Likely lineups

At 8:45 p.m. on Monday, January 23, the match, valid for the 19th day of the championship, between Inter and Empoli will be staged at the San Siro. Inzaghi’s men want to continue their chase to the top of the standings occupied by Napoli, while Paolo Zanetti’s boys hope to extend their streak of consecutive useful results to five matches.

Simone Inzaghi looks set to make changes from the lineup fielded against Hellas Verona and especially against AC Milan in the Italian Super Cup: Denzel Dumfries, never a starter in 2023 except in the Coppa Italia, Stefan De Vrij in place of Acerbi and Joaquin Correa, who could make an always-used Edin Dzeko back off, are set to start from the first minute.

Among the Tuscan ranks, few doubts for Paolo Zanetti: the only ballots for the former Venezia coach are between Ebuehi and Stojanovic for a place on the right flank, with the Dutchman favored, and between Satriano and Bajrami in attack, for a place alongside Caputo and Baldanzi, with the Argentine slightly ahead.

INTER (3-5-2): Onana; Skriniar, De Vrij, Bastoni; Dumfreis, Barella, Calhanoglu, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco; Correa, L. Martinez. Coach: Inzaghi S.

EMPOLI (4-3-3): Vicario; Ebuehi, De Winter, Luperto, Parisi; Akpa Akpro, Henderson, Bandinelli; Baldanzi, Caputo, Satriano. Coach: Zanetti P.
