Mercedes team principal: “Red Bull just played.”
Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff to Sky was certain that Red Bull blatantly hid in the first two qualifying sessions in Bahrain: “They played. They kind of marched with it, I remember how it was done, not to draw too much attention. But in the end they had to push.”
Accusations to which Red Bull executive Helmut Marko was quick to respond, “These are meaningless accusations, our drivers both drove on the limit. Then in Q3 we had a second set of tires, which is equivalent to a couple of tenths of improvement.”
