Milan, Shevchenko categorical: ” I expect a more leading Leao. We will need a game like the first leg.”

Milan are preparing to face Tottenham for the return leg of the Champions League round of 16. That match represents a crossroads of the season for Stefano Pioli’s boys to continue their European adventure and gain more confidence ahead of the end of the championship. A few hours before the match, as reported by “La Gazzetta dello Sport,” Andriy Shevchenko spoke and analyzed the challenge that awaits his former team.

“They will have to try to repeat the first leg match. I liked the Milan seen at San Siro especially from the mental point of view, as they always stayed inside the match. I saw very determined players. If they show up here in London with the same attitude and spirit then they will have more chances to bring home the result. Pioli must not make the wrong approach and focus only on the defensive aspect. He will have to try to field a formation that is compact at the back but can also hurt in attack,” the former Rossoneri striker began.

“I expect a lot from Leao. He has all the qualities to be decisive at the highest level. He must be able to make a difference in the Champions League as well; he can still grow a lot. He must try to be more of a leader in every respect. I am also rooting for De Ketelaere: a good performance can surely help him get unblocked and gain more self-confidence,” Shevchenko concluded about the Portuguese.
