Gasquet is ready to take on Sinner. But he admits, “He hits hard.”
Gasquet prepares for match with Sinner
After eliminating Gojo in the first round, Richard Gasquet is set to take on Jannik Sinner, who will instead make his Indian Wells tournament debut, as he benefited from a first-round bye as a seeded player.
The experienced transalpine tennis player gave an interview to L’Equipe in which he said he was satisfied with his debut match: “I played well. Until 6-4, 2-0 everything was going perfectly. The tie-break got out of hand, but I knew how to restart so I wouldn’t be surprised further. I ended up being less tired than him, who is 25 years old.”
On his next opponent, he said, “I will now meet an even younger player whom I have never met. He hits hard and puts a lot of intensity on the court.”
