Matteo Berrettini eliminated

Real crisis for Matteo Berrettini, who was eliminated in his debut in the second round of the Indian Wells Masters1000.

The Roman tennis player, who has now slipped far from the Top 10 ranking and is currently out of the Top 20 as well, was beaten by Japan’s Taro Daniel (No. 103) with a score of 7-6 (5) 0-6 6-3 in 2 hours and 41 minutes of play.

Berrettini, back from the calf injury that forced him to retire in Acapulco against Rune, will be called to redemption in Miami.

As for Indian Wells, tonight it will be Jannik Sinner’s turn against Gasquet and Musetti’s turn against Mannarino.
