The words of Pecco Bagnaia

Pecco Bagnaia, after becoming world champion, has a dream: “Only Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez have managed to defend the title in MotoGP, and I want to do what they did. It’s an even more difficult job.”

“Open a cycle? I hope so,” he added in an interview granted to La Stampa. “What is needed? Winning and being consistent.”

Francesco, aka ‘Pecco,’ Bagnaia after winning the Moto2 world championship in 2018 with Sky Racing Team VR46, makes his MotoGp debut in 2019 riding the Ducati of Team Pramac Racing. In September 2020, he scores his first podium in the top MotoGP category in Misano.

The following year he switched to the factory Ducati team and finished the championship in second place, behind French Yamaha rider Fabio Quartararo. In 2022, in his second year with the Borgo Panigale-based Rossa, he clinched his first world title in MotoGp, at the end of a spectacular comeback over defending champion Fabio Quartararo, who during the course of the season had come as close as 91 points ahead of Bagnaia.
