Sudtirol stops Parma, Pecchia explains what his team missed
Parma, Pecchia blunt: “Maybe we should have brought more men inside the area.”
Following the scoreless home draw with Sudtirol, Parma coach Fabio Pecchia spoke in the press room to have his say about his boys’ performance.
“When the spaces are so tight you have to risk the play to unhinge the defense. We found ourselves always doubled up and so we were forced to put several balls into the box looking for a favorable episode. We played a lot on the wings, as we found more freedom. Perhaps we should have brought more men inside the penalty area to trouble their rearguard more,” the Ducali coach began.
“We were able to close them down in their half of the field. We were good at staying focused for the entire 95 minutes of the game. We had several chances that we should have taken better advantage of. The important thing, however, was to maintain a certain tactical balance so as not to concede the restart to them,” Pecchia concluded.
