Genoa-Ternana 1-0 and Cosenza-Spal 1-0

The 29th day of Serie B closes with home successes for Genoa and Spal. The Grifone needed only a goal from Badelj to beat Ternana and move to second place in the standings alone, while the Silani took the salvation clash with the Estensi thanks to Brescianini’s goal.

The match at the Marassi started immediately downhill for the hosts, who unlocked the game after 13 minutes: on a long cross by Sabelli, Haps recovered the ball and put it back in with Badelj, who only had to score from a few steps. The Grifone dominated the first half but could not find the double. In the second half, the hosts see two goals cancelled: first to Puscas and then to Badelj himself. Ternana thus remains in the game and pushes in search of an equalizer but without success.

In Calabria in the first half it was the guests who made themselves more dangerous first with Moncini and then with Zanellato, who hit the crossbar after a wonderful shot on the turn. For Cosenza, it was only Florezi to trouble the Estense rearguard. In the second half the match remained alive and after a cross by Fetfatzidis and a shot by Rispoli parried by Alfonso, the Silani found the advantage in the 65th minute: Zilli controlled the ball or discharged it for Brescianini who let off a precise left-footed shot that beat Alfonso. The goal galvanizes the hosts, who repeatedly come close to doubling the score but Alfonso overcomes himself. In the final, Nasti signs the 2-0, but the Var cancels for offside.

Genoa climbs to second place in the standings alone at 53, while Ternana remains stationary at 36. 3 crucial points for Cosenza, which moves up to 18th place at 29 points, overtaking Spal itself, stationary at 28.
