Milan slams Salernitana: 1-1 at San Siro

The 26th day of Serie A closes with a draw between Milan and Salernitana: Giroud’s goal in the first half was answered by Dia in the second half, signing the final 1-1.

In the first half, the match struggled to take off thanks to an attentive Salernitana: only in the 28th minute did Giroud go close to scoring with a spectacular acrobatic attempt. The guests responded with Dia, who, however, was prodigiously stopped by Maignan on his way out. In the final, the Rossoneri found the lead with Giroud, who turned a Bennacer corner kick well with his head.

In the second half Paulo Sousa weighs down the attack with the inclusion of Piatek and the choice pays off: in the 56th minute Dia, alone in the box, signs the equalizer on an assist from Bradaric’s left. Pioli throws De Ketelaere, Ibrahimovic and Origi into the fray but the Var, which takes away a penalty from the Diavolo, and Ochoa, decisive on Ibrahimovic and Florenzi, deny the Rossoneri victory.

Milan thus misses hooking Inter in second place, remaining fourth at 48. For the Campani an important point that brings them to 26, +2 on Spezia, fourth-last.
