Olimpia Milano, sigh of relief for Ettore Messina
Olimpia Milano: no injury for Shavon Shields
In Olimpia Milano’s house, after the away win in Brindisi in the championship, there was apprehension about the condition of Shavon Shields. The basketball player of the Milanese team was injured during the first quarter of the match against Happy Casa Brindisi, falling back on an opponent’s foot, ending his game early. However, good news came from the infirmary for coach Ettore Messina, as the player did not suffer any injury to his left ankle and will be re-evaluated by the medical staff in the coming days to establish with more certainty the recovery time.
“Pallacanestro Olimpia Milano announces that the left ankle of Shavon Shields, who forced the player to leave the Brindisi game during the first quarter following a game accident, is not injured. The player will be re-evaluated in the next 48 hours,” reads the statement issued by the red and white club.
The U.S. forward only returned to the parquet last week after nearly four months off from the injury suffered in October.
