Indian Wells, Jannik Sinner wins pass to quarterfinals
Sinner’s magic moment continues in Indian Wells. The South Tyrolean got rid of the experienced Wawrinka in two sets (6-1, 6-4 the match’s partials in one hour and 38′ of play), thus earning a pass to the tournament’s quarterfinals. This was Sinner’s first quarterfinal match in Indian Wells.
The Italian played excellent tennis, forcing the 37-year-old Swiss into incredible shots to bring home some points. Apprehension in the second set with Sinner suffering some physical problems, fortunately without serious consequences. Now on his way is Fritz, No. 4 in the men’s draw and last season’s winner.
