Alberto Gilardino clarifies on Gudmundsson
Genoa will host Brescia on Saturday at 2 p.m. in the 30th round of Serie B. Alberto Gilardino presented the challenge this way in a press conference, “Attitude and mentality will be key aspects also because we meet a team that has changed technical guidance but has more awareness than before, especially defensive solidity. We on our side will have to play a strong game from the mental point of view.”
Albert Gudmundsson has been excluded from the Icelandic national team, and coach Vidarsson said the reasons are not strictly football-related: “He is training as he always has. He is in very good condition, he is inside the team. He doesn’t have to settle, sometimes he doesn’t have to disappear from the game. He has quality and tear in one-on-one but he has to put it on the field for 95 minutes and we have to be good at turning it on during the game. As far as extra-football is concerned, I don’t see him any different and he has not been touched at all by what happened.”
“Every game, as I have always said, is its own story. All the games we played were done with the right attitude. Our will, from everyone, is to be ambitious with ourselves. This is a fundamental aspect that we strongly desire,” Gilardino concluded.
