Indian Wells, Carlos Alcaraz wins tournament and returns No. 1
The Spaniard is in scintillating physical and mental condition
Successful operation. Alcaraz does not betray at the best of times. The Spaniard, after eliminating Sinner in the semifinals, prevails over Medvedev in the last act at Indian Wells, taking home a major victory that earns him (again) the top spot in the ATP rankings.
Alcaraz never gave the Russian the slightest chance to get into the match, imposing himself with a dry 6-3, 6-2. And to say that Medvedev was coming to the Indian Wells final on the strength of 19 consecutive victories. Since the beginning of 2003, Alcaraz has already won 15 matches, losing on only one occasion (to Norrie in the final in Rio de Janeiro). The feeling is that the new world No. 1 is unplayable right now.
