The Alps Hockey League semifinal series began with two home wins.
While last year’s finalist, HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice, won 3-1 against the Rittner Buam SkyAlps, the Red Bull Hockey Juniors had to resort to overtime against S.G. Cortina Hafro. After just over 72 minutes of play, Philipp Krening decided the match at 3-2 in favor of the Austrian outfit. For the forward, it was the second goal of the match against the Ampezzans.
